Our Story

CLUB.Consulting – short for Christian Leihner Unternehmensberatung – was founded in Hamburg with a clear mission: help businesses turn digital potential into measurable results.

Against a backdrop of growing complexity in marketing technology, e-commerce and retail media, CLUB was created to offer exactly the kind of senior, hands-on consulting that combines strategic clarity with deep operational know-how.

Christian Leihner

Managing Director

He is the founder and Managing Director of CLUB.Consulting (Christian Leihner Unternehmensberatung), advising leading consumer goods and retail organizations on digital transformation, commerce strategy and retail media activation across EMEA markets. Christian is fluent in German, English and Spanish. His CliftonStrengths Top 5 – Arranger, Ideation, Maximizer, Individualization, Activator – reflect his ability to structure complexity, turn ideas into scalable strategies, and mobilize teams for execution.


Previously, he served as Head of Performance Marketing & E-Commerce Customer Strategy at Unilever DACH, directing media and retail partnership budget, scaling omnichannel go-to-market models, and establishing Unilever’s retail media vision across global and regional teams. He also stepped into the consumer electronics business as Director E-Commerce DACH at Haier Europe, where he designed and led omnichannel digital strategy across four business units (MDA, SDA, Cooking, Consumables) in EU5 markets, strengthened CRM-based upselling and implemented supply chain innovations to elevate Amazon operations.


As Head of Business Innovation DACH at Unilever Deutschland Holding, he co-authored the 2025 digital marketing strategy, drove consumer experience excellence, and founded NU Business GmbH, a new business incubator with full P&L responsibility.

Earlier in his career, he led large-scale transformation projects as Business Director & Senior Project Manager at DOKYO Creative Agency and managed BMW/MINI’s global digital CX activations across 54 markets as International Account Manager at BBDO Worldwide.


He is a recognized thought leader and frequent speaker at OMR, DMEXCO, d3con, Marketing Tech Summit and other leading industry platforms, as well as jury member of the Marketing Tech Award Berlin.
